About Kingswood Academy

Kingswood Academy is a private, independent, coeducational school dedicated to the academic, spiritual and moral formation of our students. At Kingswood we believe all children will benefit from developing strong minds and virtuous characters.

• Our school hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m., with the exception of every Wednesday when the children are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. This “early out” provides the teachers with a weekly hour of Professional Development.

• Our Pre-Kindergarten program is combined for 3 and 4 year-olds and meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the full day. Monday and Friday pre-school is available for an additional fee.

• Our Kindergarten students are with us all day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Having the classes run three consecutive days gives the children the opportunity to cover more material in a consistent manner and to develop necessary social skills. Kindergarten students may also attend Monday and Friday, for an additional fee, with our pre-K students.

• Because Kingswood is a private school, we look at the academic ability of each student as well as their maturity level when deciding on the best grade placement. We test all incoming K-7th grade students and report the results to the parents or legal guardians.
